Your Guide to Kratom Capsules
Are you wondering what the deal is with kratom capsules?
What are they? What are they used for? What sort of effect do they have on the mind and body?
Well, if you want answers to any of these questions, you have come to the right place. In this article, we will walk you through the ins and outs of kratom, reasons to use kratom capsules, and some of the benefits that you can get from them.
So, let’s get right into it!
What Is Kratom?
Let’s look at the basic chemical in kratom capsules. Kratom is a plant that grows in the region of south-east Asia. The scientific name for the plant is mitragyna speciosa.
A number of different cultures have known for some centuries that it has some medicinal benefits, which we will go into shortly.
Kratom is also known to have certain opioid effects, as well as stimulant effects. It’s important to recognize that western medicine has not really fully investigated kratom. So, it is only legal in some states and consensus has not yet been reached on its side-effects and efficacy.
Even so, researchers believe that kratom has many medicinal benefits for both mental and physical ailments. It is also used recreationally because it gives people a certain ‘high’ that is similar to other opioid substances.
What Are Kratom Capsules?
There are many different ways of consuming kratom. Traditionally, users have consumed kratom in the following ways:
- Eating the kratom leaves directly from the plant
- Adding ground kratom or kratom leaves to food
- Brewing kratom as a tea
However, in the western world, kratom is now typically offered in pill or capsule form. It also comes in the form of extract in some circumstances.
There are many pros and cons of the debate between pills and capsules. However, one of the main benefits of using capsules is that the digestive system breaks the capsule down faster than a pill.
This means that the chemical substance inside the capsule releases into the body more quickly than a pill. If you are using kratom for immediate relief from pain or mental unwellness, this can be a benefit.

Benefits of Kratom Capsules
There are a large variety of uses for kratom, and it is hard to come up with a comprehensive list of its uses. But we will now outline the main uses and benefits of kratom.
Pain Relief
There has already been some research on the use of kratom for pain relief. The main reason kratom has been identified as a pain-relief medicine is the alkaloids it contains.
Alkaloids are naturally occurring chemicals that have a range of physiological effects on humans. But one of the primary uses for them is pain relief.
Alkaloids form in high quantities in morphine for example. Morphine is a very strong pain killer.
One issue with kratom is that different plants contain different alkaloids and different concentrations of them. However, kratom capsules are usually standardized to create known effects.
Mental Health
Mental health is one of the largest medical concerns of modern society. We live in a fast-paced and high-stress world, and this causes more and more people to become depressed and anxious.
However, now more than ever, people are talking about mental health and finding ways to combat these conditions. Kratom has been proposed as a serious remedy to both depression and anxiety.
Kratom works by interacting with opioid receptors in the brain. This causes the body to produce chemicals that are often associated with happiness and calmness.
Namely, kratom can be used to produce dopamine and serotonin. These are natural chemicals that the body produces normally.
However, in people with depression and anxiety, the body can sometimes not produce enough of these. The result is that people feel very down or anxious, with a lack of positive thoughts.
By stimulating the brain to produce these chemicals, kratom can create positivity.
Withdrawal Syndrome
Kratom has also been used by many people who are withdrawing from significant opioid addiction. As you begin to stop consuming opioids like heroin, a common treatment is to provide a less potent substitute of the opioid class of drugs.
Since kratom has some opioid qualities, it is a candidate medicine for gradually helping people come off opioid addiction. It’s important to remember that using kratom capsules responsibly involves limiting your consumption of the drug. This will help stop addiction and substance abuse.
Insomnia
Why use kratom capsules for sleep? Well, insomnia can often work in much the same way as anxiety.
We go to bed and we feel very alert, with lots of different thoughts rushing around in our brain. When we fight anxiety, we are fighting the nervous system’s attempt to keep us alert.
So, just as with treating daytime anxiety, kratom capsules can produce the effect of feeling calm and less anxious. Usually, these effects are felt when kratom is used in higher doses.
When kratom is used in lower doses, it has been known to act as a stimulant. This is basically the opposite of the sedative effect you are looking for to help you sleep.
But, either way, the effect of kratom should make you calmer and give you happier thoughts.
The Verdict on Kratom Capsules
There is a lot of evidence to suggest that kratom capsules have a range of benefits for people struggling with both physical and mental illness. But it’s important to remember that kratom has not yet been investigated fully.
We are still trying to understand this drug, and we don’t yet have a full account of its side effects.
Probably the best thing to do is to cautiously try kratom (if it is legal where you live), and work out whether it holds benefits for you!
